Job Description

Come join the team behind Danico’s Michelin star. DaNico is a Michelin-recognized Italian fine-dining restaurant dedicated to refined hospitality, precision service, and a world-class wine program. Our beverage philosophy centers on benchmark producers, emerging regions, and thoughtful pairings designed to elevate the guest experience. We are seeking a passionate, service-driven Part-Time Sommelier to support our wine program and dining room team. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional pursuing advanced wine studies or looking to deepen their experience in a Michelin-level environment.

About the position

You will work closely with the Head Sommelier, Wine Director and management team to execute wine service at the highest standard while contributing to sales, guest education, and cellar organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide polished, professional wine service in line with fine-dining standards
  • Guide guests through the wine list with confidence and genuine hospitality
  • Execute wine pairings, BTG service, and tableside presentations
  • Assist with cellar organization, inventory, and restocking
  • Support staff education and pre-service wine briefings
  • Maintain proper storage, handling, and service temperatures
  • Collaborate with the floor team to ensure seamless guest experiences

Qualifications

  • Previous sommelier or fine-dining service experience required
  • CMS (Intro/Certified) or WSET certification strongly preferred
  • Advanced wine knowledge across classic regions and producers
  • Strong sales ability with a guest-first mindset
  • Confident in formal service standards (decanting, Champagne service, etc.)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and key service periods
  • Smart Serve Certification (Ontario) required
