Café Host
The Café Host takes reservations and escorts clients to their tables.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Greet clients graciously on phone or in person
• Escort clients to waiting area if table not immediately available
• Seat clients at appropriate tables and supply them with menus
• Advise on daily specials if appropriate
• Receive coats and or purchases for coat check
• Introduce clients to their server
• Manage table assignments based on seating guidelines
• Observe standard table turnover times
• Ensure tables are bussed and re-set for all clients- partnering with servers
• Ensure that café front desk is supplied appropriately
• Partner with service team to deliver the nine steps of “Serving the Holt Renfrew Way”
The ideal candidate:
• High school diploma
• 2-3 years previous hosting experience in a restaurant environment
The measures of success:
• Contribution to financial objectives
• Individual objectives linked to the achievement of department goals
• Feedback from internal and external clients
