The role of the Assistant Kitchen Manager (AKM) is to support the Kitchen Manager in the running of all aspects of kitchen operations. As an Assistant Kitchen Manager you will role model Impact Kitchen’s brand and values, maintain all of the restaurant's assets, generate excellent staff culture and ensure high guest satisfaction. This role works closely with the Kitchen manager in people, equipment, cost of goods, cleanliness and excellent food execution.

Reports to: Kitchen Manager (KM)

- Assist in setup, organization and cleanliness of the kitchen
- Manage kitchen compliance including health and safety regulation
- Oversee the production of the entire kitchen staff, working together with them as a team.
- Schedule kitchen personnel in conjunction with business forecasts and predetermined budget
- Accurately order and maintain inventory of all food products and monitor daily prep production of food.
- Model the company’s standards and operating practice ensuring that the team follows - ---Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through production & packaging
- Support KM in recruiting and training a diverse team through progressive training, - development, and evaluations aligned to career planning.
- Hosts huddles, one-on-one’s and other meetings with staff to optimize communication
-When necessary, execute disciplinary action via HR process for all kitchen personnel
- Ensure a high level of cleanliness and repair of the kitchen by supervising kitchen cleaning
- Manage daily labour costs in accordance with approved schedule and targets
- Be a brand ambassador of Impact Kitchen at all times

Culinary Degree from a recognized Institute of Culinary Arts or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 1 years progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
Comprehensive knowledge of food production, sanitation, food cost controls and presentation
Knowledge of federal, provincial and municipal health and safety requirements
Exceptional communication, organization and leadership skills
Experience in training and developing new employees
Availability to work days, evenings, holidays, and weekends as business demands
Willing to periodically work long hours depending on the needs of the business
Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 LBS
Work Permit required
Preferred but not required: Food Handlers Certification
