Job Summary
As the first and last point of contact for our guests, the Host/Hostess sets the tone for the entire dining experience. You’ll be responsible for welcoming guests warmly, managing reservations and the waitlist, and coordinating the flow of the dining room to ensure exceptional guest service.
Responsibilities
Greet all guests with warmth and professionalism upon arrival
Manage reservations using our booking system (e.g., OpenTable or similar)
Control the seating chart and coordinate table turns with the service team
Maintain a waitlist when needed and provide accurate wait-time estimates
Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries courteously
Monitor guest satisfaction and communicate special requests to the floor team
Keep the entrance, host stand, and lobby area clean and organized
Support coat check or other guest-facing duties as needed
Assist with menus and promotional materials at the front of house
Provide a graceful farewell and thank every guest upon departure
Qualifications
Previous host or customer service experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred
Friendly, confident, and professional communication skills
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask gracefully
Comfortable working on your feet and handling busy guest flow
Strong knowledge of reservation systems is an asset (training provided)
Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required
A polished and approachable presence that reflects the Simona standard
