About The Lunch Lady:
The Lunch Lady is a celebrated Vietnamese restaurant known for bringing the vibrant flavors of Saigon street food to Vancouver. With a loyal customer base and a dynamic dining experience, we are proud to have earned the Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition for three consecutive years. We have very recently expanded to Toronto, we are looking for a passionate and experienced Front of House Manager to uphold our high standards of food, service, and guest experience.
Position Overview:
As a Front of House Manager, you will oversee all aspects of day-to-day restaurant operations, ensuring that our food, beverage, and service standards are met consistently. You will lead the team, manage staff, and ensure smooth operations while maintaining financial performance. You will work closely with the General Manager and Leadership Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled leader to contribute to the success and growth of The Lunch Lady in Toronto.
Responsibilities:
• Team Leadership: Support the General Manager in training, mentoring, and supervising staff to ensure top performance and professional development.
• Operational Management: Oversee daily service operations, including staffing, inventory control, quality assurance, and cleanliness.
• Customer Relations: Actively engage with guests, address feedback promptly, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere that exceeds customer expectations.
• Financial Accountability: Assist in achieving financial goals through effective cost control, labor management, and budget monitoring.
• Scheduling & Payroll: Manage staff scheduling and labour costs to ensure operational efficiency while respecting employee needs.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations at all times.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to control costs while maintaining quality and availability.
• Culture & Standards: Promote teamwork, inclusivity, and a positive work environment while upholding The Lunch Lady’s commitment to excellence.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the General Manager and ownership to execute strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in restaurant management, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a diverse team.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
• Solid understanding of inventory management, cost control, scheduling, and payroll.
• High-level organizational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to restaurant management software.
• Familiarity with Vietnamese cuisine is an asset but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
• Valid Serving It Right certification.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
