Job Description

BamBam is looking for a hands-on Senior Pastry Chef to join our existing team. The chef is a crucial part of our operations, the backbone of the pastry experience at BamBam. You will be responsible for leading, motivating and directing our Pastry team while overseeing the quality, consistency, presentation of our pastry program. 

We pride our selves on our pastries and our baking program, we have a seasonal menu, everything is made in house, we are constantly evolving our program.

General requirements of this position are:

  • Oversee and direct kitchen personnel including training and development of a team of 6-10 staff
  • Inventory and cost control
  • Scheduling
  • High standards in hygiene and cleanliness
  • Food Safe Level 1 required to meet Health Canada requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing people and a pastry operation
  • Menu creation, recipe development and execution
  • A mature self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrates hands on approach to all baker/pastry products produced in the Pastry Department ensuring quality, presentation and consistency standards meet company standards.
  • Physically fit to meet the physical aspects of the position
  • Ordering of food and kitchen supplies
