Dishwasher/ Steward
Part Time, Seasonal Position
Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar, located within the Sutton Place Hotel, is looking to hire a part time, seasonal dishwasher to work with our Banquets department for the upcoming busy conference and holiday season, with potential to work through the slower months. The Steward reports to the Chef on duty. Stewards ensure the availability of clean dishes & service-ware & support other team members by assisting with various tasks as required. They are key contributors for delivering culinary excellence to onboard client & contribute to the creation of positive guest experiences.
Execution of Daily Duties & Responsibilities:
· Provide fast & efficient sanitation of all dishes, service-ware & equipment to support daily services & events
· Keep workstation & storage areas clean & organized
· Clean kitchen floors & fridges, storage areas, disposal of garbage, recycling & compost
· Recording & tracking chemical levels & temperatures of dishwashing machines
· Maintenance & restocking of sanitation chemicals & supplies
· Assist with food preparation as required for service & events
· Report safety issues to your supervisor in a timely manner
· Practice proper hand-washing technique & use gloves correctly when required to wear them
· Maintain cleanliness & sanitization of all kitchen equipment & workstation areas
· Comply with all company safety standards
Qualifications & Key Attributes:
Must have 1 year minimum employment experience as a dishwasher/ steward in a similar hotel property
Highly organized, utilizes efficient time management & effective communication skills
Team player who builds trust with colleagues & can be relied upon for their honesty & integrity
Positive, can-do attitude & problem solving skills
Strong work ethic & high standards for sanitation
Personal hygiene is of the utmost importance
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable standing for extended periods of time.
Able to lift up to 50lbs

Hourly Rate: $20-22/ hour plus weekly gratuities (based on previous experience)
