Job Description

The Sutton Place Wine Merchant is an international wine, spirits and beer boutique Our current stock includes approximately 1000 different wines at most price points and features both unique and familiar labels. The store features an intimate ambiance and carries a wide selection of attractively displayed wines from both the Old World and the New World.

We are currently seeking candidates for the following position:

• Wine Merchant Service Specialist (P/T)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist guests by recommending, selecting and locating products based on their needs and preferences
• Process purchases using the POS system
• Balance cash float
• Participate in physical inventory count
• Cleaning duties at opening and closing and during shift as required
• Stock shelves per manager’s directions
• Must be able to work weekends and evenings
• Light Administrative work

Qualifications:

Excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic, outgoing and team-oriented individual with strong wine knowledge (recognized wine training a definite asset such as WSET, ISG, etc) and preferably a minimum one-year related experience, preferably in the F&B or wine industries. Candidate must have exceptional guest service skills, a passion for wine & a desire to learn more, strong organizational skills & attention to detail, Serving It Right, ability to lift & carry heavy items, ability to work in a positive team environment, handle payments & balance cash float and work with a computerized POS system.
