Job Summary:
The Food Expeditor acts as a critical link between the kitchen and the dining area, ensuring that orders are accurate, properly presented, and delivered to guests in a timely manner. This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Coordinate the flow of orders from the kitchen to the service staff.
-Check dishes for accuracy, presentation, and temperature before they leave the kitchen.
-Ensure all components of an order are ready and complete before it is served.
-Communicate effectively with cooks and servers to resolve delays or issues.
-Maintain cleanliness and organization in the expo station.
-Monitor ticket times and prioritize orders during busy periods.
-Assist with garnishing or final touches on dishes, when required.
-Relay customer requests and dietary restrictions to kitchen staff clearly and accurately.
-Follow food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
Qualifications:
-Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is a plus.
-Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
-Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
-Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
-Knowledge of kitchen operations and food service is an asset.
