POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a Line Cook, you are the engine room of our Kitchen. From ensuring our pars, ingredients and sauces are ready for the day's service, to working a station during a busy service preparing orders to a consistent high standard, you'll be working alongside great people in a supportive environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains good communication with Chef and other kitchen team members, Expediters and Servers as appropriate;
Prepares ingredients to recipe in sufficient quantities for service as directed by Chef or Sous Chef;
Ensures the highest standard of cleanliness at all times, and works proactively to reduce wastage while maintaining the highest quality of food served;
May be assigned a specific station in a kitchen, which will rotate for training and coverage purposes;
Undertakes stock rotation, supports inventory management processes
Participates in regular deep cleaning schedule and ad hoc kitchen hygiene responsibilities as directed
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
At least two years' proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with industry best practices
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Prior experience in a busy bar/restaurant food service role
Formal culinary education (vocational or other)
