t’s Okay is a small neighbourhood hangout in Hastings-Sunrise and we’re on the lookout for someone dependable, experienced, and easy-going to join our tight knit back-of-house crew, in a leadership role.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in maintaining a smooth, well-organized back-of-house while staying hands-on and engaged with the team. We're after someone who can balance the day-to-day operations of a busy kitchen while keeping high standards and providing creative input.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee scheduling and BOH labour management
- Handle inventory, ordering, and supplier communication
- Maintain quality control across all prep and service
- Support new staff during onboarding and training
- Ensure compliance with Foodsafe and VCH health regulations
- Participate in prep and kitchen duties as needed
- Collaborate on creative menu development and specials
- Foster open communication and a positive kitchen environment
Requirements:
- Foodsafe Level 1
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen setting
- Confidence managing inventory and kitchen operations
- Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- A calm, level-headed approach to service and staff management
- A good attitude — reliable, respectful, and easy to get along with
