General Manager
Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions Vancouver, BC

We are looking for a driven, high-accountability General Manager to lead Mount Pleasant Vintage & Provisions.

This is not a passive leadership role. This is for someone who wants to run a business.

You will be responsible for every aspect of performance—guest experience, team development, sales growth, and profitability—while building a culture that people genuinely want to be part of.

The Role

The General Manager is responsible for the performance of the entire business. Every decision is made with the goal of delivering an exceptional guest experience while achieving sales and profit targets.

This role is hands-on:

  • ~70% service leadership

  • ~30% administrative + planning

You are expected to be present during service—leading, coaching, and driving results in real time.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Development

  • Lead the full employee lifecycle: hiring, onboarding, training, development, and performance management

  • Run consistent pre-shifts and post-shifts that drive alignment and accountability

  • Develop future leaders (Bar Manager, Chef, and future GMs)

  • Maintain a high-performance, low-ego culture

Sales & Guest Experience

  • Ensure product quality is executed 100% to spec, 100% of the time

  • Drive pace of service standards across all departments

  • Create a warm, engaging, high-energy atmosphere for guests

  • Monitor reviews, feedback, and QSA results—take action daily

Financial Performance

  • Own and deliver on all budgets (sales, labour, COGS, expenses)

  • Lead accurate forecasting and scheduling to match business levels

  • Maintain tight control over inventory, ordering, and waste

  • Present and review results through regular P&L accountability

Operations & Standards

  • Ensure the restaurant is maintained “like new” at all times

  • Oversee all systems: checklists, pars, prep, and service flow

  • Maintain equipment, tools, and overall facility standards

  • Ensure all processes are followed consistently—no shortcuts

Culture & Accountability

  • Build a team that shows up with energy, urgency, and ownership

  • Address performance in real time—coaching, correcting, and recognizing

  • Create clarity around expectations and follow through consistently

  • Lead by example in every aspect of the business

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a senior restaurant leadership role (GM or AGM level preferred)

  • Strong understanding of restaurant financials (labour, COGS, budgets)

  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams

  • Highly organized with strong administrative and operational skills

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

  • Available to work both lunch and dinner service regularly
