About Us:
Since 1977, the Italian Cultural Centre has been sharing Italian language, culture, and traditions with our community. What started as a volunteer-driven dream — supported by the Province of BC and the City of Vancouver — has grown into a cultural hub for Italian Canadians and everyone who loves Italian culture. With decades of events, programs, and authentic experiences under our belt, we’re excited to add this new culinary adventure to the mix.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Working side by side with a passionate team to keep the dining room and patio running smoothly
Greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and drinks, and making everyone feel like they’ve just walked into their nonna’s kitchen
Setting up and restocking your section to be guest-ready at all times
Using our POS system to place orders and take payments like a pro
Staying cool and professional while creating warm, memorable moments for our guests
Staying in the know about menu items, specials, and any changes
Keeping things safe and up to code by following food and liquor service regulations
What We’re Looking For:
You love chatting with people and working on a team
You’ve got your Serving It Right certification
You know your way around a POS system (we use Squirrel)
You have at least 1 year of restaurant serving experience (bonus points if you’ve worked in other roles too!)
You’re flexible and can work days, nights, and weekends
You’re organized, reliable, and have solid English communication skills
You can lift up to 25 lbs, stay positive under pressure, and keep your cool with even the busiest crowds
You’re legally eligible to work in Canada
