Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our Bar team at Prophecy. The ideal candidate will assist in beverage preparation, ensuring that all recipes meet our quality and spec standards. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about the beverage industry but also have kitchen skills, with a focus on prep, cocktail batching, and good knife skills. Experience in a restaurant kitchen is ideal.
Duties:
- Assist in preparing ingredients for daily menu items, including chopping, slicing, and measuring ingredients
- Support cooking processes by following recipes and instructions from the Bar Manager (Sous Vide, Roto Evaporator, basic induction cooking)
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain the cleanliness of workstations and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
Assist in inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying management of stock needs
- Support the team during busy hours to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction
Requirements:
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or a kitchen is required. A strong interest in food/beverage preparation is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or evenings if required
- Basic understanding of cooking techniques and meal preparation processes is advantageous
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen
