We are currently looking for a GUEST SERVICES team member to join our dynamic team at RILEY'S FISH & STEAK. Michelin Recommended Riley’s Fish + Steak brings a new fish-and-chophouse dining experience to the heart of downtown Vancouver’s waterfront. The latest high-profile project for the Glowbal Restaurant Group — which also owns and operates such local hotspots as its flagship Glowbal, Coast, Italian Kitchen, Black + Blue and The Roof, Five Sails, and Trattoria by Italian Kitchen — Riley’s showcases the very best of the Pacific Northwest’s farms, oceans and pastures via a menu of classics, signature dishes and sides. Riley’s gives locals and visitors alike an authentic and entertaining experience in an expansive space with a garden patio, oyster bar and live music nightly.
As a personal representation of the service and overall brand, it is the job of GUEST SERVICES to ensure all our guests feel welcomed and appreciated.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Create a positive guest experience that begins with a friendly greeting and warm smile
· Cultivate loyal patrons; recognize and acknowledge repeat guests
· Accurately take reservations that optimize each service period
· Efficiently maintain and organize restaurant by managing guest flow while maximizing seating capacity
· Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation and seat them accordingly
· Maintain knowledge of menu items, table numbers and server sections
· Handle guest complaints quickly and efficiently - seek management assistance, if needed
· Prepare station chart and assign stations to staff following restaurant procedures
· Assist in the scheduling of the host team
· Train new hosts, ensure their training plan is complete
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
· 3+ years’ experience in similar high-volume environment
· A positive, energetic outlook and a genuine personality
· Enjoys working with people and has a passion for hospitality
· Excellent organization and time management skills
· Ability to proactively anticipate guest needs and exceed expectations
· Strong communication skills; verbal and written
· Understands the dynamic of a team working towards a common goal
*** Must be available for 2 shifts minimum with a weekday start of 11am and required for Friday/Saturday evenings***
