Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Junior Sous Chef to assist in leading our kitchen team at a high-volume, casual upscale Italian restaurant in the vibrant Mount Pleasant neighbourhood of Vancouver. With 140 seats, our restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience, featuring authentic Italian cuisine crafted with the finest ingredients.


RESPONSABILITIES:

○ Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, food preparation, team training, cleanliness standards and quality control, to ensure exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

○ Lead and inspire a team of culinary professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high standards of food quality and service efficiency.

○ Manage inventory, food cost, and kitchen expenses to maintain profitability while delivering exceptional dining experiences.

○ Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.


QUALIFICATIONS:

○ Minimum of 2 years of experience in a culinary leadership role, preferably in high-volume restaurants.

○ Expertise in Italian cuisine and a strong understanding of regional Italian flavors, ingredients, and cooking techniques.

○ Proven ability to lead and motivate a team of culinary professionals, fostering a positive work environment and promoting collaboration.

○ Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

○ Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring compliance with local health regulations.

○ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with the front-of-house team and provide exceptional guest experiences.


COMPENSATION:

○ Starting wage of $20 to $22 to be reviewed after 3 months.

○ Additional income through gratuity.
