OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

We are looking for a temporary part-time Catering Assistant dedicated to assist in the operations of the Catering Department. This "hands-on" position will include working closely with other departments, specifically Kitchen, Food & Beverage and Accounting.  The Catering Assistant will be responsible for maintaining a positive work environment within the Catering and Banquet Teams while maintaining member service standards. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare all menus, bar signs and other printables required for events.

  • Assist the Catering Manager and Catering Coordinators with their events as required.

  • Participate in department meetings with the Catering team.

  • Applies and continually broadens knowledge of events and cutting edge trends.

  • Acts as a liaison to the kitchen/ Housekeeping/Banquets/Concierge.

  • Sets a positive example for guest relations.

  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.

  • Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints with the assistance of the Manager.

  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service.

  • Ensures employees understand expectations.

  • Strives to improve service performance.

  • Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.

  • Reviews guest satisfaction results with employees.

  • Perform all other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in the hospitality industry an asset

  • Experience in sales and marketing an asset

  • Computer Knowledge (MS Excel, MS Word)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrate superior customer service philosophy

  • Must have a professional appearance and manner, a gracious attitude and the ability to interact with diverse groups as well as the ability to build strong relationships within the Club and Community 

  • Will be required to maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
