The Club is dedicated to providing unparalleled meaningful experiences for its members.

OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW

We are looking for a senior-level cook (Cook 1) to join our team at The Vancouver Club! Your mission is being responsible for leading food preparation and ensuring high-quality culinary execution. You play a key role in supervising kitchen operations, training junior cooks, and maintaining kitchen efficiency. Cook 1 works closely with the Sous Chefs and Chef de Cuisine to uphold food standards, safety, and consistency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and execute high-quality dishes in accordance with established menus and recipes.

  • Lead the kitchen in the absence of senior chefs, ensuring smooth operation.

  • Train and mentor Cook 2 and Cook 3 team members.

  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and safety standards are maintained.

  • Assist with menu development and recipe standardization.

  • Manage inventory levels and minimize waste through proper portion control.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following food safety regulations.

  • Support the Sous Chef and Executive Chef in kitchen operations and staff management.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Minimum 3-5 years of culinary experience in a fast-paced kitchen.

  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety protocols.

  • Leadership experience with the ability to train and mentor junior cooks.

  • Food Safe Level 1 certification (Level 2 preferred).

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
