Job Description

Touk is a newly opened, deeply personal restaurant located in the heart of downtown Vancouver at 1152 Alberni Street. We are dedicated to bringing an authentic expression of Cambodian cuisine to the Canadian dining landscape. At our core, our philosophy of hospitality is simple: we create space and care for others. We are looking for a passionate, experienced, and empathetic Floor Manager/Shift Leader to join our leadership team and help us build something entirely different in the city’s dining scene.

The Role As our Floor Manager and Shift Leader, you will be the heartbeat of our dining room. You will lead by example, ensuring that every guest feels genuinely looked after from the moment they walk through our doors. Because our menu features the bold, complex, and deeply savory flavor profiles traditional to Cambodian cuisine, our beverage program requires a knowledgeable guide. You will leverage your wine expertise to elevate our guests' dining experience, train our front-of-house team, and manage the floor during high-volume fine dining services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the front-of-house team during service, ensuring seamless operations, impeccable pacing, and a warm, inviting atmosphere.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for guest relations, handling feedback with grace and ensuring every table receives exceptional care.

  • Oversee the floor's wine service, guiding guests through pairings that complement our unique Cambodian flavor profiles.

  • Educate and mentor the service team on wine knowledge, steps of service, and fine dining etiquette.

  • Assist in opening and closing duties, floor floor-plan management, and daily operational logistics.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a fine dining or elevated restaurant environment.

  • Minimum 3 years of specific wine experience, with a deep understanding of pairings, inventory, and service standards.

  • WSET Level 2 Certification (or equivalent/higher) is required.

  • A natural leader who thrives in a collaborative, ego-free environment.

  • An innate sense of hospitality - you cook and serve from the heart and understand how to instinctually read a dining room.

  • A genuine excitement to learn about and champion Cambodian cuisine and culture.
