Job Description

The Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club, founded in 1897, has a celebrated reputation as Vancouver’s premier racquets club. Located just 10 minutes from downtown, our Members enjoy a private oasis in the city with superior racquets programs, year-round amenities, superb dining and friendly, personalized service.

The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the organization and operations of catering, events & outlets at the Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club.

This entails administrative duties, event coordinating, event and outlet supervision, reservations, member communication and other ad hoc duties.  The successful candidate will support department leadership in fostering a positive work environment and role model exemplary hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

 1. Operations Support

  • Assist in overseeing the day the day operations of all food & beverage outlets.
  • Assist in coordinating all aspects of catering events, including menu selection, venue setup, equipment rental, and staffing requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their event needs, preferences, and dietary restrictions, and customize catering packages accordingly.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of food and beverage service, following health and safety regulations.
  • Process all necessary paperwork, invoices, and payments in a timely and accurate manner

 2. Hospitality

- Collaborate with department leaders to coordinate the details of successful internal events and day to day service.

- Assist in training staff on service standards, menu knowledge.

- Respond to all inquiries in a timely and professional manner, handle guest feedback promptly and professionally.

- Cultivate strong relationships with clients/members through attentive communication, responsiveness, and personalized service, aiming to exceed their expectations.

 3. Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide guidance and support to food and beverage staff and encourage teamwork.
  • Assist in training new hires, ensuring they understand roles and responsibilities and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in conducting performance evaluations, by providing feedback, and implementing training programs to enhance staff skills and productivity.

 Qualifications:

  • Previous experience or education in a food and beverage role within the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and staff at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  •  Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including inventory management, menu planning and cost control.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • A positive attitude, a passion for hospitality, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

 Education:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in hospitality management, event planning, or a related field is preferred.
  • Required to have their First Aid Level 1.
  • Relevant certifications in food safety and catering management are advantageous.
  • Serving it Right is a must
  • Ability to be flexible with schedule - as evenings including closing shifts, weekends and holidays will be required.

 

Salary: $62,500.00 per annum
