Job Description

Prado Cafe on Fir Street in Vancouver is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Barista to join our team. At Prado, we believe in delivering more than just great coffee—we aim to create a welcoming atmosphere where both our team and customers feel at home.

What You’ll Be Doing

Leading by Example: As a Senior Barista, you’ll set the standard for exceptional customer service and coffee quality. You’ll be a role model for newer team members, ensuring smooth daily operations.

Crafting Quality Beverages: From espresso shots to pour-overs, you’ll brew consistently high-quality coffee and lead the team in maintaining coffee excellence.

Customer Connection: Build meaningful relationships with our regulars and new customers alike, ensuring everyone feels welcome and valued.

Training & Mentoring: Share your knowledge and expertise with junior baristas, helping them grow and master their craft.

Maintaining Café Standards: Work with the Manager to ensure the café runs efficiently, including overseeing cleanliness, food safety, and inventory management.

Who You Are
Coffee Enthusiast: You’re passionate about coffee and take pride in delivering the best quality beverages.

Experienced Barista: You have at least 2-3 years of experience in a fast-paced cafe environment and are comfortable dialing in espresso, steaming milk to perfection, and crafting exceptional beverages.

Leadership: You’re confident in your abilities and can provide guidance to the team, helping them achieve their potential.

Customer Service: You excel at creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, building relationships with customers, and handling any challenges with ease.

Team Player: You work well with others, communicate effectively, and lead with empathy and integrity.

What You Bring
Strong knowledge of coffee preparation, brewing techniques, and equipment maintenance.
At least 2-3 years of barista experience in a fast-paced, high-volume cafe environment.

Food Safe Level 1 certification (preferred).
A passion for hospitality and delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
