Position Summary

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Pastry Cook to join our culinary team in a premium casual dining environment. Our goal is to consistently deliver exceptional desserts and baked goods that elevate the overall dining experience for our members and their guests. As a Pastry Cook, you will work closely with the Pastry Chef and the broader kitchen team to prepare, produce, and present high-quality pastries with creativity, precision, and care. You will play a key role in maintaining high culinary standards, contributing to innovative menu development, and ensuring an exceptional and memorable pastry experience.

Position Responsibilities

• Daily check prep list and operations of the kitchen, ensuring the smooth execution of pastry production.
• Ensure high standards of food quality, preparation, and presentation, conducting regular inspections of seasonings, portion control, and appearance.
• Expedite on the floor or in the kitchen as business demands.
• Always show up clean and tidy for your shift
• Preferably basic knowledge in all pastry sectors such as baking techniques, including doughs, breads, cakes, fillings, icing, mousses, creams, chocolate, sugar etc.
• Be open to collaborate with the Pastry Chef and Pastry cooks in the design and innovate platting presentations, driving culinary direction and creativity.
• PATIENCE is crucial for the best pastry performance.
• Following established recipes while also developing new and creative pastry ideas. ensuring accuracy while scaling products and following instructions, minimizing waste, and maximizing quality.
• Ensuren maintaining a clean and safe environment in all kitchen areas, adhering to provincial health and safety regulations.
• Collaborating with other chefs and kitchen staff,
• Ensuring the quality and presentation of pastries, focusing on flavor, texture, and visual appeal.

Skills & Qualifications

• A minimum of 1-2 years of pastry experience.
• High production environment, including laminated doughs, bread, cakes pastries etc.
• Equivalent Red Seal certification, a degree in the Culinary Arts or an equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to learn with a calm, and patience.
• Experience working in private clubs is an asset.

Working Conditions
• This position operates 100% on-site
• Regular evenings or weekend work may be required during peak periods or special events
• Own transportation is an asset as public transportation is not frequent to/from the Club
• Candidates must agree to complete a Police Information Check (fully reimbursed upon hire).
