Doug Ford announced Wednesday that his government will extend the emergency orders related to COVID-19 an additional two weeks.
As other provinces begin to open up, Ontario continues to see increased COVID-19 cases, necessitating the longer closure of most public spaces.
"To build on the progress we have made to contain COVID-19, people should continue to follow these simple public health guidelines, practise physical distancing, wear a mask when it is a challenge to physical distance, and wash their hands regularly,” stated the premier.
As a result of the extension, bars and restaurants and other public spaces will remain closed until at least June 9th.
