The minimum wage in British Columbia increased 75 cents to $14.60 per hour on June 1.
The increase is part of the provincial government's scheduled plan to gradually raise the minimum rate from $11.35 per hour in 2017 to $15.20 per hour in 2021.
Businesses struggling with losses due to COVID-19 requested that the wage increase be deferred to a later date but it was increased as scheduled.
