On Monday, Labatt Breweries of Canada announced the acquisition of Delta, BC-based Goodridge & Williams Distillery, makers of Nutrl vodka and Nutrl vodka soda products, among others.
With the continued decline of beer sales year after year, the acquisition provides Labatt with popular brands in a ready-to-drink category experiencing double-to-triple-digit growth, with few signs of slowing down. The acquisition also includes G&W's Tempo Craft Gin, Goodridge & Williams Canadian Whisky, HIGHBALL Canadian Whisky Soda Beverage, Sid The Handcrafted Vodka, and Bitterhouse Aperitifs and Spritz.
Goodridge & Williams Distillery founder Paul Meehan and all 15 employees will remain with the company to develop new products. Labatt has committed to increase distribution of G&W products across Canada.
