As the sister restaurant to the highly successful The Story Cafe in Richmond, The Sequel brings the same commitment to high-quality food and exceptional service in a fast-paced, casual fine dining atmosphere.
We are seeking an experienced, motivated individual with a passion for hospitality and a collaborative spirit to join our team. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and are dedicated to delivering outstanding guest experiences, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Morning/day shifts begin at 8am to 4pm (must be able to work 8am shifts)
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Serve food and beverages with attention to detail and presentation
- Set up and clean up dining area before, during, and after service
- Use POS system to process orders, handle cash, and manage card transactions
- Perform basic cash-out duties, ensuring accuracy in counting and balancing
- Answer phones and take take-out orders by phone and through delivery apps
- Manage tablet system for organizing walk-in and reservation seating
- Greet, seat, and engage customers to ensure a positive dining experience
- Assist with general restaurant operations and work collaboratively with the team to maintain a high level of service
Requirements:
- Previous 2yrs experience in a serving role (professional serving skills are a must)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Must be reliable, punctual, and maintain a positive attitude
- Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures is a plus
- Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident preferred, if work permit
- must be able to work more than 6 months
- intermediate knowledge of wine (WSET is an asset)
