Job Description

The Opportunity:


Our client, a leading Auto Parts manufacturer with a global presence, situated in Nova Scotia, is actively seeking a Production Manager. In this role you will be part of an accelerated development program designed to fast-track your professional growth within the organization. The emphasis is on empowering these new leaders to swiftly amass valuable experience and advance into higher-tier operational positions. As such, adaptability and a willingness to relocate to multiple Canadian or US locations within our client's network are key requirements for the ideal candidate.


What You'll Be Doing:


• Manage a team of up to 250 indirect reports, including salaried support staff, in a 24/7 manufacturing facility.

• Monitor and manage daily performance and set mid/long-term strategic direction aligned with company objectives.

• Establish and oversee the cost control budget.

• Mentor the team and promote employee development.

• Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement in safety, production, compliance, maintenance, and employee development/mentorship.

• Provide team communication on company, plant, and department business plan objectives and performance.


What You'll Need To Be Successful:


• A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent, with an MBA considered a strong asset.

• 5 to 10 years of progressive management experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Demonstrated leadership presence.

• Ability to learn quickly.

• Strong judgment and ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Analytical problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Strategic vision coupled with implementation ability.

• Strong leadership skills, empowering and positively influencing others.

• Curiosity and willingness to challenge oneself and others to higher levels of performance.

• Excellent organizational change skills.

• Geographic mobility to various sites within Nova Scotia and the US.

• Willingness to relocate internationally for potential short-term assignments.
