Are you a creative culinary professional who is full of energy and fresh ideas? Are you looking for more meaning in your work?
PARC Retirement Living is an award-winning developer and operator of independent senior-living communities. We’re seeking a Chef de Cuisine to join our Cedar Springs PARC team in North Vancouver.
About working at PARC
The PARC dining experience is as fast-paced and service-oriented as any high-end restaurant or café – and our cuisine rivals the best, too! But PARC is also the place our residents call home. So, as you become a member of our close-knit team, you’ll forge close relationships with the seniors who live here.
As PARC's Chef de Cuisine, you’re a leader of our Food and Beverage team, responsible for:
- Creating an incredible dining experience for our residents and guests at all levels.
- Preparing beautifully plated dishes that meet the highest standards in food safety, culinary artistry, and portion control.
- Designing inspired seasonal and special menus that our residents love – while meeting budgets and including delicious vegetarian, low calorie/fat and PARC SMART options.
- Setting budgets, purchasing supplies, and maintaining inventories.
- Recruiting, training, managing, motivating and evaluating employees to perform their duties safely, professionally, courteously, and efficiently.
- Supporting PARC’s marketing efforts, as well as Active Living programs – by working closely with the Active Living Manager to create social and culinary events.
- Overseeing all kitchen sanitation and safety measures, including proper storage of food, supplies, and chemicals.
The perks of PARC Hospitality
- Meaningful work. How many hospitality jobs can say that? At PARC, you’ll be making a positive difference in seniors’ lives, each and every day.

- No more late nights. Unlike the rest of the hospitality world, our closing shift ends at 9 p.m.

- High-value benefits. We offer Extended Health, Dental, Life, AD&D and - Disability Insurance, plus an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), to help protect your health, family and way of life. Plus: birthdays off with pay, parental top-ups and much more!
It takes a special kind of person to work here – does this sound like you?
- You’re a culinary leader and artist who knows dining and restaurant management inside-out.
- You’re an expert in recruiting, training, motivating, and managing high-performance culinary teams.
- You have a diploma or certificate in Food Services Management and Red Seal certification.
- You have at least five years of experience in a hospitality leadership role or senior-living environment – or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- You have current First Aid, CPR, Food Safe Level 1 and WHMIS certifications.
- You understand and respect the needs of seniors, their families, and other professional services engaged with our residents.
At PARC Retirement Living we understand the importance of immunization to protect our residents, team members and visitors from COVID-19. As such, a prerequisite of employment is that all new hires are fully vaccinated as approved by Health Canada. We also require a Criminal Record Check, and a TB test within the first month of employment.
Our retirement residences are premium communities in central locations. They’re inspiring living spaces where residents come to live well, stay active and engage with a vibrant community of like-minded people.
Our resort-style amenities and services enable our residents to live with creativity, independence and freedom. Think variety over predictability, creativity over boredom and thriving over surviving.
