Northwinds Bus Lines Ltd. is situated in the picturesque lakes and forests region of La Ronge, Saskatchewan, and is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill our new Operations Manager position! As a cornerstone of the community, we proudly offer transportation solutions through our two divisions: school bus services and waste disposal. As the Operations Manager, you report to the General Manager and play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing daily operations and building a safety culture throughout the company.

Some of your key responsibilities include:

·      Developing and implementing operational strategies and policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and performance and monitoring and enforcing compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

·      Managing staffing levels to meet the demands of the school year including hiring and training of drivers. Overseeing logistics including scheduling, dispatching, and route planning to optimize resources.

·      Leading and mentoring a team of drivers and staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

·      Monitoring driver performance, conducting regular safety inspections and ensuring that buses and equipment are checked and maintained to meet standards.

·      Ensuring that all documentation for operations and regulators is maintained and organized.

·      Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

·      Serve as a point of contact for clients and customers addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

As well as strong organizational and leadership skills, you have a Business administration certificate or diploma and ideally 3-5 years of experience in transportation operations, preferably in a school bus or similar industry where you’ve developed knowledge of relevant safety regulations and compliance standards. You have excellent interpersonal abilities and well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Northwinds provides a competitive compensation and benefits package.
