OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW
Head Banquet Bartenders are responsible for positive guest interactions while accurately mixing and serving beverages to guests and servers in a friendly and efficient manner. In addition, this role is responsible for batching cocktails for all private events, making garnishes and communicating preparation methods with the appropriate team members. At all times, Head Banquet Bartenders are expected to be attentive to our guest needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acknowledges and greets all guests, anticipates guests’ needs and responds promptly and professionally.
- Resolve guest’s complaints, ensuring guests’ satisfaction, report complaints to Catering Services Manager and/or Banquet Captain.
- Serve alcohol to guests in a responsible manner and in accordance with BC liquor laws.
- Pre Batching cocktails for all private function events as well as VC signature events and store to the assigned areas.
- Label batched cocktails and communicate storage of the products with Catering Services Manager and Banquet Captains.
- Responsible for the preparation of bar related materials including specialty ice, pre-mixed batches, bitters, syrups and garniture.
- Maintains bar tools inventory and ensure bar tools are kept organized and cleaned.
- Set up all bars prior to the event start and ensure that the assigned bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed for mixing beverages and serving guests in a timely fashion.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization for all banquet bars.
- Accurately measure, mix and dispense mixed drinks, cocktails, spirits, beer, wine and other bar beverages accurately and in compliance with Club standards and recipes.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available at the assigned bar and their descriptions and characteristics.
- Efficiently perform bar opening and closing duties as indicated and or instructed by Catering Services Manager & Banquet Captain.
- Demonstrate a complete knowledge and understanding of beverage service standards, and all other service standards as outlined by Catering Services Manager and Banquet Captain.
- Assist training banquet servers and bartenders with product knowledge throughout events.
- Perform all other duties as required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bartending certification an asset
- Knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, beer, wine and bar culture an asset
- Must have Serving it Right.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have FOODSAFE Level 1 certification
- Must have a flexible work schedule
- WSET Level 1 is a strong asset
COMPENSATION
Hourly wage $20-24 per hour
