Dockside Restaurant at the Granville Island Hotel is looking for a full-time Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our leadership team. Located on the waterfront of Granville Island, Dockside offers a distinct Vancouver dining experience with stunning views of False Creek, the downtown skyline, and the North Shore Mountains.
About the role:
Support the Restaurant Manager and Director of Food & Beverage with day-to-day front-of-house operations, including service supervision for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and events.
Lead by example on the floor: greet and engage guests, resolve concerns, and ensure a consistently warm, professional guest experience.
Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and scheduling FOH teams to maintain high standards of service and teamwork.
Help manage reservations and service flow, including large parties and group events, to maximize both guest satisfaction and revenue.
Monitor cleanliness, safety, and compliance with FoodSafe, Serving It Right, and WorkSafeBC standards.
Support beverage and inventory control, cash handling, and basic reporting as required.
What we’re looking for:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisor or assistant manager role in a full-service restaurant or hotel environment.
Genuine passion for hospitality, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Confident on the floor in a busy, upscale-casual setting and comfortable being hands-on wherever needed.
Solid understanding of restaurant operations, including staffing, guest flow, and basic financial awareness (labour, controls, and cash).
FoodSafe and Serving It Right (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
