Job Description

The Opportunity:


Our client, a growing mining company, is seeking to hire a Site Manager to join their operations team! In this role you will play a central role in safeguarding the well-being of all personnel, including employees, contractors, and consultants. You will be responsible for maintaining meticulous records of shipments, orchestrating site staffing logistics, while overseeing seamless health & safety and operations activities.


What You’ll be Doing:


  • Ensure the health and safety of all personnel on-site, including employees, contractors, and consultants.
  • Oversee adherence to contractual agreements and diligently monitor and report hourly employee and staff timesheets on a biweekly basis.
  • Provide comprehensive support to geologists and staff by facilitating procurement processes, managing supplies, shipping core/rock samples, and arranging charter flights.
  • Maintain meticulous records of shipments to laboratories and provide regular updates on drill progress, core logging, and assay progress.
  • Participate in the hiring process for hourly and contract site employees and provide weekly update reports to the Vice President of Exploration.
  • Collaborate with the geological team to develop and implement systems for comprehensive core logging, photography, SWIR recording, and database entry.
  • Organize schedules for fly-in/fly-out staff to ensure uninterrupted work coverage and mitigate staffing gaps.
  • Facilitate the procurement of contracts for site work as necessary and coordinate first aid training courses for all employees.
  • Obtain or possess relevant licenses for alcohol and drug testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.


What You’ll Need to be Successful:


  • Prior experience or familiarity with mineral exploration or mine site operations is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, such as the Mines Act, and possession of a Mine Supervisor Certificate is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for effectively managing logistical operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities to address operational challenges and ensure seamless workflow.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving priorities with agility.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and operational excellence.
