Reporting directly to the Regional General Manager, the Assistant General Manager is a true hospitality professional at heart who has a strong background in venue operations and knows how to throw a party. This leader is responsible for creating positive shareable experiences for guests and employees in our venues, late nights and weekends, as well as driving the business through community outreach!
The Role
- Service: ensure smooth and efficient service delivery by overseeing the execution of established service standards. Monitor service quality and address any issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Staffing: monitor and adjust staffing levels as needed to meet operational demands. Coordinate with RGM to ensure adequate staffing, manage employee schedules, and proactively address staffing shortages or overages.
- Day-of Programming and Pre-shift Huddles: coordinate with management and staff to plan and execute daily venue operations. Conduct pre-shift huddles to communicate goals, updates, and expectations for the day, fostering teamwork and alignment.
- Ensure safety of employees and guests: implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a secure environment for both employees and guests. Regularly assess and address any safety concerns to mitigate risks and uphold standards.
- Manage guest concerns: effectively and professionally handle guest complaints and conflicts, striving to resolve issues to the satisfaction of all parties. Train and empower staff to handle complaints efficiently and in accordance with company policies.
- Hire, train, and lead the Front of House Team: recruit and onboard new team members, providing comprehensive training on the establishment's Steps of Service and operational standards.
- Develop and execute revenue-driving programming: collaborate with the hospitality marketing team to design and implement promotional events and initiatives that drive revenue and enhance customer engagement.
- Physical on-street presence: engaging with guests and pedestrians, actively engage with guests and passersby's outside the venue to attract foot traffic and drive business.
- Represent the brand positively and create a welcoming atmosphere to encourage patronage.
- Understanding and communicating the vision of Par-Tee-Putt: embrace and embody the brand's vision and values, communicating them effectively to staff and guests. Ensure that all operational decisions and actions align with the established vision to maintain brand integrity and consistency.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Valid Smart Serve Certificate required
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Shift Leader /Key Holder /Supervisory role
- Experience in Hospitality /Food and Beverage required
- A passion and commitment to quality guest service and hospitality
- Experience using software systems including Square & 7Rooms (training provided)
- Demonstrated ability to hire, retain, and engage team members
- Experience leading a team with the ability to coach, delegate and support
- Strong problem solving skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to work calmly and effectively during peak times
- Meet productivity standards and complete work using time efficiently
