We are currently accepting applications for the following position located in the Bathurst, New Brunswick area.


About the Role:


Reporting to the Reclamation Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for directing all aspects of operations, maintenance and surveillance for the Heath Steele closed site. The candidate will lead a small team on-site, and develop, implement, maintain and document all phases of the environmental and site management systems, effectively assessing, managing and mitigating risk.


The Site Manager role is accountable for developing and maintaining site-specific safety procedures and protocols that comply with Corporate and jurisdictional requirements and ensuring adherence by anyone who is present on-site. The successful candidate will ensure that all environmental programs are compliant and demonstrate leadership with health and safety programs. Community and stakeholder engagement is also a priority for the successful candidate. For Glencore, it is important to ensure communication and interactions with stakeholders are reciprocal, proactive and positive.


Qualifications:


  • Five to eight years of relevant industry experience with sound general knowledge of operations;
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Sciences or a related field from a recognized institution;
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations, process control, mine reclamation and/or tailings facilities considered an asset;
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and/or pumping systems is preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with Governmental and Non-Governmental Stakeholders;
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a team. Experience being managed remotely and/or managing a team remotely would be an asset;
  • Basic computer skills with Word, Excel and functional operational systems;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational, planning and scheduling skills;
  • Ability to safely work at a remote site and outdoors at all times of the year; and ensure the safe work of others.
  • Ability to travel to the operations and periodically within North America;
  • A valid driver’s license.
