Opening this winter in the heart of Whistler, Trattoria Di Como is a modern Italian restaurant inspired by the elegance and warmth of Northern Italy’s lake region. Featuring refined yet approachable cuisine, curated wines, and elevated hospitality, our goal is to deliver an experience that celebrates connection, craftsmanship, and contemporary Italian dining in an alpine setting.
We are seeking an Assistant General Manager to join our opening leadership team and help bring our vision to life. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in high-energy, guest-focused environments.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the General Manager and Director of Operations, the Assistant General Manager (AGM) will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the restaurant—ensuring exceptional guest experiences, consistent execution of brand standards, and strong financial performance. The AGM will lead by example, motivating and developing the team while maintaining a positive and professional culture.
Key Responsibilities
Support the General Manager in all aspects of daily operations, including service, staffing, scheduling, and financial performance.
Oversee front-of-house operations to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Maintain high standards of hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism.
Train, coach, and motivate team members to achieve operational excellence.
Collaborate with culinary leadership to ensure consistent food quality and menu execution.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and labor management.
Manage guest relations, respond to feedback, and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Represent the restaurant and brand with integrity and pride in the Whistler community.
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of management experience in a premium casual or fine dining environment.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
Proven ability to manage costs, labor, and inventory effectively.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Passion for hospitality, wine, and Italian cuisine.
Proficient with POS systems (TouchBistro experience an asset) and basic financial reporting.
Food Safe and Serving It Right certification required.
