Job description: Sales Director – New Business Development
Location: Preferably Greater Toronto Area.
Responsibilities
- This role is focused 100% new business development to build and convert pipeline across Retail and CPG Sector.
- Identifies sales leads through established networks. Develops strategies and identifies, build and convert new areas of opportunities in Retail and CPG Sector.
- Maintains high-level of customer loyalty and builds trust and integrity, as indicated in company conducted surveys and reports.
- Actively engages the senior company executives to build strategic relationships with the customer which ensure long-term business opportunities for the company.
- Presents to large sized groups of key decision makers at the executive level; develops and communicates vision and purpose.
- Drives independently customer proposal, solution defense/orals and division and company-wide events
- Acts as an advisor to the customer on HCL, industry trends, best practices, and cross-industry applicability (Business).
- Develops proposal strategies and win themes.
- Manages client expectations and balances the needs of the company and the client to ensure satisfaction for both.
- Influences decisions and engage at the executive level (Relationship Management).
Job Qualification
1. Strong rolodex in Retail and CPG industry. Demonstrable experience in creating opportunities from a defined territory by using sales 101 – cold calling, industry memberships, local connects.
- 20 years of relevant experience selling into Retail and CPG Sector
- Extensive experience interacting, presenting and working with C level executives. Ability to meet such executives independently to qualify opportunities
- Experience of working with outsourcing advisors like ISG, Avasant, Alsbridge etc.
- Have experience independently selling medium to large multiyear integrated deals
- Deep understanding of Canadian Retail and CPG industry, buying/selling patterns, client dynamics and competitive landscape.
- Have work experience with some of the top Tier-1 Management consulting firms or with top Tier-1 global suppliers
Personal Qualities and Education:
- A hands-on executive who will successfully assimilate into the corporate culture and become involved as a member of the high-performing team.
- A professional whose credibility and expertise can gain immediate acceptance and respect within the organization.
- High performance expectations. Comfort level in a results-oriented yet team-oriented collaborative environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA is preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop compelling proposals and business plans. French as an additional language is preferred.
- Readiness to travel of over 60%
