The Role
The Retail Expansion Project Manager will play an essential part in overseeing the successful end-to-end implementation of new stores, retrofit, renovation and maintenance of all Monos stores. Reporting into the Store Development Manager, primary duties encompass building and sustaining productive working relationships with all pertinent internal and external stakeholders, as well as planning, implementing, and flawlessly executing key deliverables. This ensures that all projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in line with approved design specifications and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the delivery of new stores, retrofits, and renovations.
- Forecasting, tracking, reporting, and analysing project costs.
- Managing project tendering, negotiations, and securing all necessary internal and external approvals.
- Procuring and coordinating store fit-out components.
- Ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This includes maintaining internal communications for transparency, such as cost updates, construction updates, shopping centre communications, and coordinating opening dates with retail and store operations teams.
- Applying industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
- Managing contracts and agreements with key external stakeholders, including builders, contractors, sub-contractors, and other vendors and suppliers, to define and determine project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Managing internal stakeholders, acting as the central point of contact for all project related communications and ensuring all teams are completing deliverables on time
- Conducting regular risk assessments to keep projects on track and consulting on any necessary scope or strategy adjustments.
- Ensuring compliance with all required certifications and regulations, including any required operational permits
- Resolving design and construction Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Overseeing the deficiency process, including completion and contribution settlement.
- Maintaining project documentation, drawings, and record systems.
- Strengthening and building relationships with contractors and suppliers.
- Providing ad hoc coordination and support for store maintenance, as well as preventative maintenance per brand standards
- Measuring project performance to identify areas for improvement in future planning.
- Overseeing the close out of a project, including tenant allowance payouts and final as-builts.
- Travel to active projects site, as needed.
Experience Level
- 2+ years of experience as a Project Manager
- Building/construction knowledge/management.
- Proven experience in managing project documentation, with proficiency in reading and interpreting complex design, property, and leasing contracts, as well as adhering to industry regulatory standards and specifications.
- Proven experience managing budgets
- Excellent communication skills and experience juggling multiple stakeholder interests.
Bonus points if you have skills in:
- Strong understanding of the retail industry across North American and International markets
- Experience working in a specialty or luxury retail environment.
- Experience using AUTOCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite
- Architecture or design experience.
