Nature & Scope
The Executive Chef will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of the White Table Catering Kitchen Facility, with a focus on maintaining a professional and productive work environment, exceeding guest expectations with respect to meal quality and presentation, and ensuring food safety standards during preparation and at our events.

The Executive Chef will lead the execution of on-site and/or off-site events as necessary and provide professional, focused, and humble leadership to the event staff and kitchen team.

Compensation

- Annual Salary of 70k to 80k depending on experience

The Ideal Applicant should:

- Be capable of leading a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment

- Enjoy cooking in different environments (outdoors, indoors, homes, large venues)

- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral

- Be technically proficient in their culinary craft and have a desire to continue learning and growing as a cook and a desire to mentor others

- Be creative and keep up to date with trends in the ever-evolving culinary landscape

- Be organized, efficient and prepared. Always ahead of the game yet able to think on their feet

- Represent themselves and the company in a professional manner at all times through their conduct and communication with vendor partners, guests and other associates

Duties and Responsibilities

--

Creative

- Develop new menu items and recipes when necessary to reflect current company objectives

- Represent the company at industry collaborative culinary and design photoshoots with guidance from the Creative Director

Operational

- Approach all tasks in line with the White Table philosophy, aesthetic, and standard of excellence

- Ensure that menu items are prepared in a timely manner and to the highest level

- Communicate respectfully and effectively with all team members across the organization

- Train staff in accordance with company standards

- Schedule and assign staff for all prep days

- Create daily prep lists for the team and ensure that all production goals are met
-Oversee and systemize ordering, inventory, and maintenance systems

-Maintain required Food Safe health standards

-Upkeep and work within the company operational software system

-Communicate with Event Specialists to ensure that all logistical elements are in place for each event

-Load equipment and food into mobile trailer and drive to and from events across the lower mainland

-Participate in an evaluation process after events and discuss recommendations/plans for -improvement with the Management team

-Oversee the hiring and onboarding of any new kitchen staff

-Complete any other duties necessary to ensure the success of the operation

-Oversee maintenance of logistical equipment and general storage area

-Ensure and maintain a clean, sanitary, and professional work environment

Financial

-Ensure profitability of the kitchen by controlling the cost of goods, waste, and stock management

Requirements

-Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on the business and event-specific needs

-Must be eligible to work in Canada

-Current Level 1 Food Safe

-Phone plan with data needed; for use with workplace apps and communication when teams are split

-Valid Driver’s License

-Ability to bend, lift, and carry 50 pounds

-Ability to stand and be mobile for an excess of 8 hours

-Current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector upon hire

-Proficient in Gmail, Microsoft Office Suite
