We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting our Finance team. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals looking to oversee the whole month-end process and have other responsibilities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Corporate Controller and various cross-functional teams to execute and lead month-end process and other special project. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for various things.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the month-end process, including reporting for entities of the group, consolidation process, and year-end review and audit processes under ASPE.
- Proactively investigate and implement new processes to improve the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Overseeing inventory costing and coordinating with the business to investigate issues.
- Ensuring documentation of all processes and procedures are up to date and the appropriate controls are in place for all financial processes under your responsibility.
- Performing monthly profit-and-loss analytics for management’s use, and reviewing the monthly balance-sheet-binders.
- Maintaining the standardization of data.
- Overseeing of all statutory and government audits.
Must Haves:
- CPA Designation
- 5 years of experience minimum leading and managing a team.
- Experience using ERP systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Strong leadership skills and ability to develop strategic business relationships
- Excellent critical thinking skills.
- Detail oriented and highly organized.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
- Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements and reports.
- Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations based on findings.
- Problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies or inefficiencies.
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
