Overview:
Our client is an engineering and technology company specialized in the design, engineering, and supply of electrochemical systems. Current projects are focused in the lithium extraction space, with active projects world-wide.
Due to continued growth, they have an immediate opening for a Manager of Project Execution.
This is a full time, permanent role based in Vancouver, BC.
We are looking for candidates who have a background in industrial engineering projects, and leading multi-disciplinary teams. Preference will be given to candidates with experience with integrating electrolyzer technologies within a plant setting.
Responsibilities:
- Engineering and project delivery management.
- Oversight and management of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and design groups.
- Work with Discipline leads to identify opening and staff projects accordingly.
- Work with Discipline leads to ensure engineering and design work quality for all of our client's external projects.
- Plan staffing schedules to meet project contract requirements.
- Manage and coordinate our client’s Project Managers and Engineers to ensure that project priorities are being maintained and manage schedule / deliverable conflicts between projects.
- Manage small cell test work at external sites.
- Participate in our client's Project Management meetings to update management of progress.
- Technical leadership and support to junior staff.
- Work with our client's management team to plan schedules and staffing requirements for new projects and contracts.
- Build, supervise and develop an effective project execution capacity.
- Work with our client's Quality Manager to enforce quality standards for all engineering and design work.
- On an as needed basis participate and direct involvement with project technical work will be required.
- Foster and enforce a safety-focused work environment.
- Foster and enforce adherence to our client's project and engineering guidelines, procedures, and technical specifications.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum of 15 years of experience leading and managing small to medium sized multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams.
- P.Eng. status with EGBC or ability to obtain P.Eng. status within 6 months.
- Previous experience in design engineering projects for the chemical process or oil and gas industry, preferably in an engineering consulting capacity.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and work with a variety of engineering and design areas to solve complex problems and move projects forward to achieve required deadlines.
Other employment details:
- Based at our client's headquarters in downtown Vancouver.
- Some work travel, both foreign and domestic, is expected to support projects.
Salary range: $175K-225K CAD
