Located in Ville Saint Laurent, our growing team is looking for a Purchasing Assistant who is self-motivated and possesses a strong sense of teamwork.
SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Purchasing Assistant will work closely with the operations team to ensure inventory levels are maintained by coordinating procurement activities with overseas suppliers. The ideal candidate will have experience with or knowledge of forecasting, procurement, logistics and inventory management.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Researching and evaluating suppliers
· Negotiating favourable contracts, pricing and terms with suppliers
· Forecasting inventory requirements
· Initiating purchase orders based on forecasts and available inventory levels
· Sending purchase orders to suppliers and following up on production and shipment status
· Reviewing all purchasing related documentation (supplier invoices, packing lists, BOLs, etc)
· Negotiating advantageous rates with freight forwarders and booking vessel space accordingly
· Coordinating shipments with freight forwarders, monitoring shipment status from port to port
· Participating in inventory reconciliation and monitoring of inventory levels
· Maintaining financial profitability by meeting and exceeding purchasing and sales targets
· Collaborating on invoicing with the Orders Desk as needed
· Creating reports as needed by the management team
· Managing pricing tables and performing margin analysis as needed by the management team
· Performing general administrative tasks such as email correspondence, maintain filing system, etc.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Languages: English and French
· 1-2 years relevant experience
· Strong computer skills
· Working knowledge of Quickbooks, Shopify and Cin7 an asset
· Autonomous and versatile with strong organizational skills
· Positive attitude and team player spirit

· Employment hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 AM - 5 PM
