We are seeking a passionate, driven, and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team and continue building a kitchen culture centered around quality, teamwork, and creativity.

Position Summary

The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all back-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, maintaining profitability, and leading a motivated kitchen team. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to developing both people and systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all daily kitchen operations and service periods
• Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
• Develop seasonal features and menu items in collaboration with ownership
• Manage food costs, inventory, ordering, and waste reduction initiatives
• Create and maintain recipes, prep lists, and kitchen procedures
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff
• Schedule kitchen employees while managing labour targets
• Ensure compliance with all Food Safe and health authority regulations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
• Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork
• Monitor equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed
• Lead by example during service and support all stations when required

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of kitchen leadership experience
• Previous Head Chef or Sous Chef experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and labour control
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Experience with menu development and recipe standardization
• Valid Food Safe Certification
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
