Position Summary

The Bartender serves as a central figure in creating memorable guest experiences through exceptional hospitality and a passion for craft beverages. This role thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, bringing energy, professionalism, and creativity to every shift. With a strong sense of presence and attention to detail, the Bartender helps foster a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit and standards of the establishment. This position reports to the General Manager, with directions and instructions from Senior Management and the Owners at times.

Position Responsibilities

• Providing fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to restaurant guests, restaurant staff and culinary production team.
• Greeting and welcoming each guest seated in their assigned station.
• Being very familiar with all food and beverage items on the menu.
• Selling on a consistent basis, while continuing to create new opportunities and strategies for increasing the cheque average.
• Performing the opening and closing procedures i.e., the set up and break down of stations, clearing and re-setting up of tables, etc.
• Maintaining and ensuring the overall cleanliness of assigned station(s) and establishment.
• Performing accurate cash & credit handling as well as POS procedures.
• Protecting the restaurant and guests by complying with sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.

Experience & Qualifications

• Education: Valid BC Foodsafe Certification & BC Serving it Right Certification.
• Experience: prior experience in a food-serving establishment.
• Self-motivated, organized, and ability to multi-task effectively.
• Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, days, nights, and weekends.
• Must be punctual and reliable.
• Ability to work varied hours.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with guests and employees.
• Customer service focus and quality orientated.
• Adaptable and flexible.
• High energy level.

Physical Requirements

The Bartender involves being on your feet for extended periods, including walking, standing, and moving throughout the restaurant and dining areas. Team members must be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that may include exposure to varying temperatures and crowded spaces. Physical capabilities should include the ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. independently, bend, reach, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills.

Work Schedule

This full/part-time position generally works eight-hour days. The specific work hours during the workday may be determined through mutual agreement, allowing for flexibility as needed.
