We are currently looking for a GRILL COOK to join our dynamic team at GLOWBAL RESTAURANT located in Vancouver’s landmark, TELUS Garden, this is where stripped down North American cuisine lives and breathes, taking ingredients from across the continent.
Reporting to the Chef, the GRILL COOK is responsible for safely preparing dishes required for a full-service restaurant. The ideal candidate should be motivated by an appetite for food and developing knowledge of various cooking techniques.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
-FOODSAFE certification is an asset
-Strong knife skills and workable knowledge of kitchen equipment
-Solid understanding of standard measurements and portions
-Energetic with a passion for food and a positive outlook
-Able to follow oral and written instructions
-Experience as a grill cook - grilling, frying, sautéing, chopping, etc.
-Likes to work as part of a team
-Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
-Ability to stand for long periods of time
-Prepare meats and other food items for cooking on grills
-Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the work area
-Assist in food prep during off-peak periods as needed
-Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
-Must be familiar with all proper norms and techniques of handling food products
-Must have knowledge of basic grilling techniques and gilling procedures
