Our client, a successful ICI construction company has an opportunity for a Drafting Manager to oversee and lead draftsperson in the glass division....

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications using AutoCAD or Inventor
• Coordinate and manage workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or problems.
• Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
• Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
• Modify and revise designs to correct deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
• Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components and assemblies.
• Maintain organization within the existing drawing database.
• Material quantifying as required for purchasing of said materials.
• Develop fabrication drawings for the purpose of assisting shop employees to fabricate the parts for the project..

Requirements

• Minimum of 5years drafting work experience in a similar industry

Graduate of an architectural technology college program

Must have:

Pervious experience with curtain wall and glazing (glass) systems and façade systems

• Strong PC skills in AutoCAD and MS Office
• Strong mathematical skills an asset
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
