Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Commissioner, Engineering and Public Works, the Manager, Transportation and Fleet is responsible for managing services that ensure the safe operation of the Town’s transportation network (including roads, bridges, sidewalks, and streetlights), as well as overseeing fleet services within the organization. Key duties include developing, implementing, and managing operations/maintenance programs related to traffic engineering, roads, and fleet.
Qualifications and Requirements:
•Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or similar.
• Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation with OACETT or Licensed Professional Engineer (P. Eng).
• Certified Roads Supervisor (CRS) designation with AORS.
• Class ‘G’ Driver’s License in good standing.
• Five or more years of experience in developing, implementing, and managing municipal capital and maintenance programs relating to transportation.
• Working knowledge of the following provincial legislation and applicable regulations:
o Occupational Health and Safety Act
o Highway Traffic Act
o Employment Standards Act
o Labour Relations Act
•Computer proficiency utilizing word processing and spreadsheet software, internet, e-mail, and work order systems.
