We are seeking a Finance Manager for our client in Winnipeg. The ideal candidate is expected to have previous experience from a public practice environment handling financial reporting and corporate taxes for public companies, and with a CPA designation, and must have led a team of at least 3 people.

Who you are

• You have a post-secondary degree in Business or related field with a CPA designation.
• You have at least 5 years experience managing corporate taxes and financial reporting for a large corporation with multiple subsidiaries, and with shareholders. You have an advantage if it is with a publicly quoted group.
• You have been exposed to different accounting software and systems.
• You have been involved in fund raising activities through debt financing and equity financing.
• You are familiar with engaging with external auditors and audit committees.
• You have handled management accounting for special projects that involve multiple external stakeholder groups.
• You have worked in a public practice environment.
• You have supervised a team of at least 3 people.
• You possess effective communication skills.
• You are analytical and love to tackle complex problems.
• You have been involved in fund raising activities through debt financing and equity financing.
• You are familiar with engaging with external auditors, regulatory authorities, and audit committees.
• You respect confidentiality.
• You can multitask and work under pressure.
• You can work independently or as a member of a team and have a good relationship with people.

What you do

• Preparation of annual audited financial statements.
• Preparation of Annual Report for shareholder and regulatory authorities.
• Preparation of unaudited Quarterly Reports for shareholder and regulatory authorities.
• Preparation of monthly financial statements for management and internal purposes.
• Preparation of tax returns for all Companies in the consolidated group.
• Interfacing with taxation authorities.
• Formulating the appropriate corporate accounting policies and ensuring they are applied in conformance with IFRS.
• Staying abreast of all current accounting pronouncements and incorporating them into the Company’s policies where applicable.
• Interfacing with both the external auditors and the audit committee.
• Preparation of annual operating budgets and analysis of results against budget.
• Analyzing corporate financing needs and recommending solutions to senior management.
