Summit Search Group is looking to hire a Production Manager for one of our clients, a Canadian company specializing in the production and distribution of steel products used in the construction industry. Mid Valley Rebar is a division of Salit Steel Group of companies
This role will be based at their Cloverdale facility, BC.
Role & Responsibilities
The Production Manager will oversee day-to-day activities and operations to meet production goals and lead the team. The Production Manager drives growth, ensures top-notch customer service, and streamlines operations. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are required.
- Manage production and shipping/receiving for safe, efficient, and budget-conscious processes.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Optimize inventory management and conduct regular safety checks.
- Coach and mentor team members, ensuring adequate staffing for optimal production.
- Improve layout and workflow for efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Identify and address production, safety, and quality issues.
- Schedule maintenance and external resources.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Handle hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions for production team.
- Monitor production cost metrics.
- Keep updated on industry changes and new technology.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of production/manufacturing management experience.
- Relevant credentials and certifications.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Strong management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance
regulations, ordinances, and legislation.
- Experience with routine maintenance operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management and project management skills.
- High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
- Computer literate.
