Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Manager to lead Employee Relations and HR Advisory/Administration at UFA. You are excellent at building relationships within a team and with business leaders and have a vision for effective management of the employee life-cycle.


Reporting to the Director, HR Partnerships, you will lead a team of HR Business Partners and Advisors. Specific areas of focus include workforce and career path planning, performance management, employee engagement, as well as providing ongoing employee relations guidance and support. You will also provide support to a corporate client group of your own.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Oversee a team of HR Business Partners and Advisors that work with the business, to advise, educate and support HR programs as well as manage employee relations activities.
  • Oversee and support the effective administration of the HRIS system within the HRBP team.
  • Manage a small client group providing HR business partner support to advise and coach on employee matters.
  • Stay on top of legislation changes to ensure compliance in managing the employment relationship.
  • Co-lead performance management initiatives across the organization including annual goal setting, year-end reviews, and ongoing coaching to increase overall accountability and performance results.
  • Partner to oversee employee engagement initiatives including survey administration, results presentation and the development and implementation of action plans. Leverage results to identify areas of improvement and work collaboratively with the business to implement and deliver on identified action plans.
  • Collaborate with Talent Management and Total Rewards to deliver on HR strategic objectives.
  • Partner with other HR team members to contribute and collaborate on development of projects, programs, and services to meet business requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree with 10+ years of Human Resources experience, including 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Proven leadership skills and track record managing diverse HR disciplines and teams.
  • Well-developed knowledge of human resources legislative and legal practices, standards, and trends is required.
  • Prior experience in multiple facets of human resources which include employee relations, talent management and recruitment.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker and business partner with previous experience with program development and implementation.
  • Engaging, and consultative manner with the ability to build consensus among coworkers and stakeholders.
  • Possess intermediate computer skills in the Microsoft office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • SAP and Success Factors system experience is an asset. Previous experience using an HRIS required.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) is a preferred asset.
