In partnership with our client, we are searching for a Manager, Mechanical Engineering, that will plan and direct all mechanical engineering activities within the group. This is a key role in ensuring all mechanical engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in keeping with the company policies and objectives. This role is based out of our client’s office located in Calgary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of mechanical engineers (rotating, static, package, materials, piping, and stress)
• Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and supporting staff.
• Facilitate and generate manpower loading and forecasting.
• Analyze market demands and available resources.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor corporate procedures and standards.
• Liaise between Engineering and Project Management.
• Review and manage the Client requirements and expectations.
• Develop cost estimates and approve expenditures.
• Develop, manage, and implement project specifications.
• Assist in short-term planning and business strategies.
• Conduct performance reviews and training throughout the team.
• Demonstrate commitment to the Health and Safety program.
• Assist with business development and client relationships.

• Expereinced in managing multi-discipline teams.
• Must be familiar with ABSA, regulatory and code requirements.
• Broad exposure to conventional oil, natural gas, and heavy oil facility design and construction.
• Packaged equipment and rotating equipment experience.
• Knowledge of compressor specifications, pump specifications and analysis.
• Knowledge of piping engineering and stress analysis.

Education and Qualifications:

• Successful candidate will be Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) within the province of Alberta.
• Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Minimum 15+ year’s oil and gas experience (with some experience working in an EPCM environment)
